Wine Making Class
Cost: $225 per person (discounts for couples)
Dates: March 8, 15, 22, 29
Time: 9 a.m. – Noon
Location: Thief & Barrel Tasting Room
Think of this class as the “driver’s ed” of winemaking—preparing you for the real hands-on experience. Over four 3-hour sessions, you’ll explore everything from harvest and fermentation to bottling and labeling your own wine. Topics include:
- Equipment essentials and home winemaking tips
- Understanding key concepts like sugar, pH, and how to adjust them
- The complete winemaking process, with examples and “show and tell”
- Opportunities to meet fellow enthusiasts and seasoned winemakers
You’ll also receive:
- A Certificate of Completion
- Access to 20+ years of expertise
- The chance to buy grapes and make your own wine
Enjoy unlimited access to refresh your knowledge and stay connected with our “Cellar Rats,” a group of past students who continue their winemaking journey.
Wine Making Hands-On
Cost: TBD per 100 lbs of grapes (1.5 cases of wine)
Dates: Harvest season (Mid August–October)
Location: Thief & Barrel Winery
Ready to put your knowledge into practice? This hands-on class allows you to take the reins and create your own wine from scratch. After completing the four-session class, you can purchase grapes (varietals available) and start the winemaking process.
Here’s what’s included:
- Crushing, pressing, and fermenting your own grapes
- Measuring Brix, pH, and tannins while applying the skills learned in class
- Ongoing support from an experienced winemaker and “Cellar Rats”
You’ll also have the opportunity to:
- Get discounts on wine kits and equipment
- Connect with other students to share equipment or bulk purchases
Please note:
- Harvest schedules are subject to weather conditions, so flexibility is key
- A 50% non-refundable deposit is required when purchasing grapes
Important: A minimum of 10 students is required to host the class. If we do not reach this number, the class will be rescheduled. You can either be refunded or roll over to the next available date.
